I Was On Drugs When I Named My Child??

Another entry in the I WAS ON DRUGS WHEN I NAMED MY CHILD list. This was sent to our work by a groovy friend that I really miss.......

"Hey guys, For some reason I remember a conversation we had about weird child names...Well, here is one to add to the list.

OKAY. How would you pronounce this child's name? Le-a (written just like that) Leah?? NO Lee - A?? NOPE Lay - a?? NO Lei?? Guess Again

It's pronounced 'Ledasha'. Oh yes...you read it right. This child attends a school in Livingston Parish, LA. Her mother is irate because everyone is getting her name wrong. SO, if you see something come across your desk like this, please remember to pronounce it correctly. When the mother was asked about the pronunciation of the name, she said,"The dash don't be silent."

He he!

A Few Things

Ok, I found him and I don't want to seem like I am obsessed or anything, but the link to his blog is now working again, and in case anyone is interested he is hosting a show on Travel Channel ,Mon, Oct. 20th @ 10:00. That was a real long sentence!! The Show is "At the Table with Anthony Bourdain". How about "Under the Table With Anthony Bourdain"?

At work tonight we were discussing strange names. It started with a girl who's name was Cazhmonay... her Dad pointed out that means cash money because that's what she costs him. My daughter knows a little girl named Precious Passion (no comment) and another named Shamoney. Money seams to be a popular theme when choosing a child's name. One of the alltime favorites is Shithead (seriously this is real, just pronounced different) One word to explain this craziness..... drugs.....

We should start a list of unusual names. Send them to me and I will start a running list.

Sunset of the Day has been added to this blog in honor of our return to the Mother land (OBX) for a fun filled week of drinking and sunning this June. After weeks of deliberations we have decided that it is more important to have a private pool ,hot tub, and four master bedrooms than to have an oceanfront property that costs $4000 a week! Actually we didn't decide, our checkbooks did, so we are going for it! After all, you got to save money for food and drinks!

Why Can't I Find Him?

Someone is messing with Bourdain's Blog. Everytime I try to get there I am re-directed to a web site for Hudson Union Interactive Designs. What in the name of God is going on??????? You don't think he is avoiding me do you?

Chuckie's First Steps

Nine months and two days old miss chuckie took her first steps today at my house. Her aunt and I clapped and cheered her on!! When her dad came to pick her up she showed him her new trick. We called her mom (at work) who said she is quitting work! I kind of knew she would be upset :) She won't quit....this will give her something to whine about for years!

That's a Big One!

One of my friends sent me this picture of a mamouth sweet potato home grown in her father's veggie garden. WOW! Grab a pound of butter and a bag of brown sugar and you have a meal for a family of four.

A Near Death Experience

It was 12:25 and I was trying to multi-task. I had to leave for work in five minutes and still had to brush my teeth and listen to a message from my sister about my dad's doctor appointment. One thing lead to another and suddenly my cell phone was laying in the bottom of the sink among my toothpaste spit and water. Crap! Trying not to panic I grabbed the phone, dried it off and marveled at random screens flashing on and off. I removed the back and the battery, shook it out and threw it in my purse because I was running late. When I arrived at work I set the parts of the phone on a paper towel and left it alone for about four hours. At 5 I went out searching for food and brought my phone to conduct a few tests. I sent a text message....it worked!! I called work (which really confused them)....that also worked!! Now I am back at home and my phone is charging and I am going to curl up on the couch with Anthony Bourdain. Ok...his book, Kitchen Confidential. As we all know, he is too busy with his wife and kid to curl up right now. but he will be back!

Who Would Have Thought????

I received this picture text this morning from a friend who is also an admirer of the Ped Egg. I never dreamed that this amazing product could be made even better. This is the new Ped Egg with handle. As the package exclaims "reach your feet with ease"! That's about as good as it gets :)

I Told You Chuckie Is Scary

He Is Cheating On Me!!

I decided to add my boyfriend, Anthony Bourdain's blog to my site. Imagine my horror when I read his latest entry and find out he has an Italian girlfriend and a baby!! It will take many glasses of cheap boxed wine to get over this trauma.

Older is Better

Fifty is nifty cause you get to wear a great necklace :)

Save a Horse...Ride a Cowboy

Candy (her stripper name) and friends celebrated her 50th birthday Sat nite. After a dinner of grease and beer at BW3s we headed over to The Dirty Cowboy. Boy were we surprised to find out that Saturday nites are rock and roll nites!! We were entertained (and I use that term loosely) by a jammin rock and roll band (again loosely). Ok they kinda sucked but since we are so easily entertained we still had fun. Candy sported a groovy necklace that explained older is better and made friends with a bull.

Look At All The Meat.......

Make Mine Mexican!!!!!!!

Went to my favorite Mexican restaurant tonight with fellow workers and some out of town guests. Full of fun bought these fun multi-colored, light up ice cubes for our drinks. Who would have thought drinking could be made even funner:) My mostly vegetarian friend and I split shrimp fajitas which were delicious. And for the record, it is not my fault she eats meat once in a while.
